Standard & Poor's Announces the S&P Canadian Bond Index Rebalancing Report for May 2007

Standard & Poor's has completed the monthly rebalancing of the S&P Canadian Bond Index. According to index methodology, the universe of Canadian bonds is exhaustively reviewed to reflect changes in par amount and term to existing index constituents. Qualifying new issues are added to the index and existing constituents that no longer meet the criteria for inclusion are removed.

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) today announced it is opposing the re-election of four more directors to the boards of companies named in the backdating of employee stock options.

Today, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced that it has issued an order under Section 4d of the Commodity Exchange Act allowing the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and registered futures commission merchants to hold Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) customer positions and associated funds in segregated accounts. The NYMEX request for this approval relates to the exchange’s clearing of certain contracts traded on the DME.

FTSE Med-100 Index Review

Representatives of the Athens Stock Exchange, the Cyprus Stock Exchange and the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange had a meeting on mid May 2007, at the premises of the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange, of the advisory committee for the FTSE Med-100 Index. The FTSE Med-100 Index, which was launched on June 2003, is composed of 100 stocks of the three exchanges, some of which are also listed on US and European securities markets.
