NZX Operating Metrics - August 2007

Highlights Average daily trades were up 17 % at 2,604 and average daily value traded was up 11% at $142 million. The NZX 50 Index finished the month on 4119, up 17% since August last year. The index was down less than 1% at the end of the month on its opening August index value. Total capital raised on the NZX markets year to date is up 38% at $3.035 billion, compared with $2.2 billion for the same period in 2006.

This early closure is in the interest of the safety and welfare of our staff and also, to allow staff members to vote. Trading at the Exchange will end at 11:30 a.m.

STOXX Announces Changes To Its Blue-Chip And Style Indexes - Regular Annual Review To Be Effective On September 24, 2007

STOXX Ltd. today announced the results of the regular annual review of the Dow Jones STOXX 50, Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50, Dow Jones STOXX NORDIC 30 and Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged 15 blue-chip indexes as well as the results of the annual review of its style indexes. The changes will be effective on September 24, 2007.

Deutsche Börse: 113 Percent Rise In Turnover On Xetra In August - Total Volume Of €288 Billion Traded On All Stock Exchanges In Germany

In August €266.1 billion were turned over on Xetra and on the floor of Börse Frankfurt – a rise of 109 percent year-on-year (August 2006: €127.2 billion). Thereof €251.5 billion were traded on Xetra gaining 113 percent year-on-year (August 2006: €117.6 billion) and €14.6 billion on the floor (August 2006: €9.5 billion). German equities accounted for €248.5 billion, foreign equities comprising €13.5 billion. More than 97 percent of the transaction volume with German equities was executed at Börse

Trading Volume At Eurex Grew By 64 Percent To 175 Million Contracts - Open Interest With New Record At The End Of August

At the international derivatives exchange Eurex about 175.1 million contracts were traded in August, a rise of 64 percent year on year (August 2006: 107 million). The daily average trading volume was 7.6 million contracts compared with 4.6 million in August 2006. Drivers of growth were the segments equity index and fixed income derivatives. Open interest reached a new record at the end of August with more than 130 million contracts.
