    At the end of the settlement date of September 28, 2007, short interest in 2,702 NASDAQ Global Market(sm) securities totaled 7,912,885,287 shares compared with 8,138,297,370 shares in 2,714 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of September 14, 2007. The end-of-September short interest represents 4.44 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.00 days for the prior reporting period.

    The MICEX and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SSE) have signed a memorandum of mutual understanding aimed at promoting cooperation between the two exchanges in the area of information exchange. Both exchanges wish to contribute to the development of organized capital markets of Russia and China.
