SGX To Launch Mini Nikkei 225 Index Futures And Reduce Contract Sizes For Its India And China Futures

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) is pleased to announce that it will launch the SGX Mini Nikkei 225 Index Futures contract on Monday, 19 November 2007. In addition, SGX will reduce the contract sizes for the SGX Nifty India Index Futures as well as the SGX FTSE/Xinhua China A50 Index Futures contracts on the same day.

ICAP Launches Gold/Yen Pair On EBS Platform

ICAP plc (IAP.L), the world’s premier interdealer broker, is to launch a new metals product on its award-winning electronic trading platform EBS. The introduction of gold/yen (XAU/JPY) on Monday 5 November brings to five the total number of metals pairs available on EBS and is the first non-US dollar metals pair available on the system. The introduction of gold/yen follows increased customer demand for this product.

According to the latest statistics from China Futures Association, the performance of the national futures market in general was stable. For China's futures market as a whole, in October, the total volume and turnover increased 119.15% and 138.67% respectively from a year ago to 76.3 million contracts, worth 3.7 trillion yuan, and was 10.65% and 2.84% upper than September 2007 respectively.
