SIFMA Releases Results Of Its First European Equities E-Trading Survey - Liquidity And Technology Access Biggest Hurdles For Buy-Side Trading Desks
The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today released its first European Equities e-Trading Survey. The survey confirmed that e-Trading in equities is well established with over half of both buy-side and sell-side respondents executing over 80 percent of their trades electronically.

(Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that its matched volume in all U.S. securities increased by 91%, a record high of 58.9 billion shares in January, as compared with 30.9 billion shares in January 2007. National Stock Exchange Announces Record January ETF Trading Volume Surpasses $2.2 Trillion
National Stock Exchange(SM) (NSX(R)) today announced that notional trading volume in U.S. listed Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) for January 2008 reached a record monthly total of $2.23 trillion in January 2008, an increase of approximately 236% over January 2007 when ETF notional trading volume reached $664.5 billion.

Trading On the RTS Index – Telecom Sector Futures Start On FORTS
On February 13th, 2008 within the framework of the expansion of the range of instruments originating from the wider RTS Index – Telecom sector index futures contract has started on FORTS. NYMEX Reports January 2008 Volume Averaged A Record 1.739 Million Contracts Per Day - NYMEX Electronic Trading Volume Increases 19% - COMEX Electronic Trading Volume Increases 163%
NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NMX), the parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., the world's largest physical commodities futures and options exchange, today announced average daily volume for January 2008 of 1.739 million contracts, a 6% increase from 1.637 million contracts per day in January 2007.

ICE Futures Europe Achieves Daily Record Gas Oil Futures Volume
IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, announced that its ICE Futures Europe(TM) subsidiary yesterday set a new daily volume record in its ICE Gas Oil futures contract. On Wednesday, February 13, ICE Gas Oil futures volume reached 200,908, surpassing by 8% the previous record of 186,124 contracts established on November 6, 2007.

SGX Issues Consultation Paper On Composition Fines And Minimum Penalties For Securities Market
Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) is inviting public comment on the proposed enforcement framework, comprising a Composition System and Mandatory Minimum Penalties, for the securities market. The proposed new measures and changes will ensure prompt enforcement actions and resolution of minor to egregious rule violations. The Exchange proposed a similar enforcement structure for the derivatives market recently on 19 December 2007.
