NASDAQ OMX Extends Suspension Of The Bid Price And Market Value Of Publicly Held Requirements Until July 31, 2009

The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced the NASDAQ Stock Market (NASDAQ(r)) has made a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission to extend its suspension of the rules requiring a minimum $1 closing bid price and a minimum market value of publicly held shares through Friday, July 31, 2009. The rules will be reinstated on Monday, August 3, 2009.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today charged Sean Nathan Healy (Healy) of Weston, Florida with operating a fraudulent commodities scheme that defrauded at least 44 investors of approximately $14 million.

Two-Thirds Of Financial Services Players Believe “Too Big To Fail” Banks Should Be Forced To Shrink - Securities & Investment Institute

Two-thirds of financial services players believe that banks considered “too big to fail” should be forced to shrink. That was the finding of a recent Securities & Investment Institute (SII) survey which followed concerns raised by Bank of England Governor Mervyn King that restraints should be placed on banks to prevent them getting too large.
