Maurren Maggi, From The BM&FBOVESPA Athletics Club, Makes Gold Medal History In Beijing
Maurren Maggi, a Brazilian athlete from the BM&FBOVESPA Athletics Club, won a gold medal in the long jump today, August 22, and became Brazil’s first women’s track-and-field athlete to win an individual gold medal in the Olympic Games. With a leap of 7.04m on her first jump, Maurren surpassed Russia’s Tatyana Lebedeva who won silver with a jump of 7.03m. Blessing Okagbare from Nigeria took home the bronze medal, with a mark of 6.91m.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices
Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders Duvernay Oil Corp. (TSX:DDV) have accepted the $CDN83.00 cash per share offer from Shell Canada Limited. Duvernay will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Completion and Equity Completion, the S&P/TSX Equity and Capped Equity and the S&P/TSX Capped Energy indices after the close of trading on Tuesday, August 26, 2008.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index
Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, August 22, 2008: Westward Explorations Ltd. (TSXVN:WWE) will be removed from the index. The company will be transferred to NEX to trade under the ticker symbol "WWE.H" and there is no change to the CUSIP number and no consolidation of capital.

SEC Enforcement Division Announces Preliminary Settlement With Merrill Lynch To Help Auction Rate Securities Investors
The Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement today announced that a preliminary settlement in principle has been reached with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. (Merrill Lynch) that would enable investors who purchased auction rate securities from the firm to receive a total of up to $7 billion to restore their losses and liquidity.

New York Attorney General Cuomo Announces Settlements With Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, And Deutsche Bank To Recover Billions For Investors In Auction Rate Securities - Total Of Over $10.5 Billion To Be Returned To Investors - Total Of Approximately $50
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo yesterday announced another round of agreements to provide liquidity to consumers who purchased auction rate securities. Under the latest series of agreements, Merrill Lynch & Co. (“Merrill Lynch”), The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
