    On June 15, 2010 final settlement prices were calculated for the front month futures contracts on gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Final settlement prices: GOLD-6.10 – 1,223 $/ounce. SILV-6.10 – 18.42 $/ ounce. PLT-6.10 – 1,553 $/ ounce. PLD-6.10 – 456 $/ ounce.

  • First ETFs Backed By Physical Commodities In Japan To Be Listed

    The four exchange-traded funds with gold, platinum, silver and palladium as the underlying assets, which have recently been set up jointly by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp. and Mitsubishi Corporation, have been approved for listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on July 2, 2010. These are the first ETFs backed by physical precious metals held domestically.

  • Tokyo Commodity Exchange To Extend Trading Hours On September 21, 2010

    Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (“TOCOM” or the “Exchange”) today announced that the Exchange has decided to change the closing time of its night session from 23:00 JST to 4:00 JST (following day) as of September 21, 2010. The Exchange has applied to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for authorization of the necessary alterations to its Market Rules defining trading hours, and will implement the changes upon receiving the approval.
