SGX Deepens Its Partnership With Jiangsu Province, China

Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) continues to deepen its commitment and relationship with China through the signing of a Listing Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Financial Affairs Office (“FAO”) of the Jiangsu Government in China. This MOU would bring the partnership between Jiangsu Province and Singapore Exchange to its highest level, together with the earlier MOUs with Wuxi FAO and Suzhou Industrial Park.

President’s Working Group On Financial Markets Releases Money Market Funds Report

The President's Working Group on Financial Markets (PWG) today released a report detailing a number of options for reforms related to money market funds. These options address the vulnerabilities of money market funds that contributed to the financial crisis in 2008. Following the crisis, the Treasury Department directed the PWG to develop this report to assess options for mitigating the systemic risk associated with money market funds and reducing their susceptibility to runs.
