Retail Trader Sentenced In Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission’s False Trading Case

The Eastern Magistrates’ Courts today sentenced Mr Ng Ka Hei to 220 hours of community service following his conviction of false trading in the shares of six Hong Kong-listed companies in a criminal prosecution brought by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) recently released the List of SSE Practical Initiatives for the Market in 2026 (hereinafter referred to as the List) following thorough research into market demands and in light of the SSE's work reality. The move aims to fully implement the guidelines of the CPC Central Committee's eight-point decision on improving conduct, and further advance the "Open-Door Review, Open-Door Supervision and Open-Door Service" philosophy.

Monetary Authority of Singapore Announces Expansion Of Equity Market Development Programme

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today announced that it will expand the Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP) from S$5 billion to S$6.5 billion. This follows the announcement by the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance at Budget 2026 today to top up the Financial Sector Development Fund to support the expansion of the EQDP.

Public Warned Of Impersonation Scams Claiming Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Affiliation

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today cautions the public about impersonation scams involving fraudsters claiming to represent the SFC. Recent reports to the SFC indicate that scammers have been contacting members of the public and industry professionals through phishing emails that purportedly originate from the SFC.

JPX Market Innovation & Research Launches Study For Industry-Wide Common Data Platform To Enhance Securities Operations

JPX Market Innovation & Research, Inc. (JPXI) has begun considering the establishment of an industry-wide common data platform. This platform will aggregate a range of corporate and transaction information and distribute it in a format conducive to automated processing, in order to support securities companies in enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of their back-office operations.

Highlights from our 1H26 result
“ASX achieved strong revenue growth of 11.2% to $602.8 million in the half and we continued to deliver key business outcomes during the period. Revenue performance was driven by high volumes for cash market trading, clearing and settlement, and interest rate futures. It was particularly pleasing to see all four business units contributing to our result, underscoring the value of ASX’s diversified business model."
