Global FX Division Announces Trade Repository Partner For Foreign Exchange Industry

The Global FX Division of AFME, SIFMA and ASIFMA announced today that its members are recommending a partnership with DTCC and Swift in order to develop a foreign exchange trade repository, where information can be stored electronically to provide additional transparency for regulators.

SEC Charges Janney Montgomery Scott Failed To Maintain and Enforce Policies To Prevent Misuse Of Material, Nonpublic Information

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it brought and settled charges that Philadelphia-based broker-dealer Janney Montgomery Scott LLC failed to establish and enforce policies and procedures to prevent the misuse of material, nonpublic information, as required by law.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, July 11, 2011:

• Western Potash Corp. (TSXVN:WPX) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on TSX under the same ticker symbol. Western Potash will remain a constituent of the S&P/TSX Venture 30 Index until the next index rebalancing in the end of July, 2011.

Financial Services Industry Releases Recommendation For A Global Legal Entity Identifier System

A coalition of financial services firms and trade associations (the “Trade Associations” [i]), in coordination with the Global Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA/AFME/SIFMA, collectively known as GFMA), has presented to regulators a recommendation for the organizations that it believes are best suited to operate a global legal entity identifier (LEI) system to aid regulators and industry in monitoring systemic risk. TMX Select is Successfully Launched

TMX Group Inc. today announced that it has officially launched trading on TMX Select^TM, its alternative equities trading system. Canada's newest ATS offers participants additional execution and liquidity seeking opportunities through a differentiated marketplace and pricing model. Eight trading symbols were enabled for trading on TMX Select today; the remainder of Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange symbols will be enabled in a phased approach over the next few weeks.
