The value of ASX-listed stocks, as measured by the All Ordinaries Index, fell 2.2% during May. Other major markets also fell during the month including Japan down 1.6%, the US down 1.4%, the UK down 1.3%, Singapore down 0.4% and Hong Kong down 0.2%.  

MOU Signed Between Qatar Exchange And The Cyprus Stock Exchange

Qatar Exchange (QE) and the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the QE premises in Doha.  The purpose of the MOU is to formalize cooperation between the two markets.

SEC Extends Review Of CBOE Holdings' Rule Filing To Trade SPXpm, Its Proposed New S&P 500 Index Option Product

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) reported that at the end of business today the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) instituted "proceedings to determine whether to approve or disapprove" the proposed rule change filed by CBOE Holdings to launch SPXpm, its proposed new S&P 500 Index option, which it intends to trade on the C2 Options Exchange (C2). This means that the Commission will extend its evaluation of the SPXpm rule filing in order to gather more information.

BATS 1000 Index Down 2.4% This Week - All Ten Sectors Decline More Than One Percent

BATS Global Markets, a global stock market operator, reports the BATS 1000^SM Index (Ticker: BATSK) decreased 2.4% for the trading week ending June 3. The S&P 500 Index was down 2.3% for the same period.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, June 3, 2011:

• Harte Gold Corp. (TSXVN:HRT) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on TSX under the same ticker symbol.
• Stans Energy Corp. (TSXVN:RUU) will trade under the new ticker symbol "HRE". There is no change in the company name or CUSIP number and no consolidation of capital.
