IntercontinentalExchange Announces Strategic Investment With 12.4% Stake In Cetip S.A., Brazil's Leading Clearing House

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global regulated futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, today announced that it will acquire 12.4% of the shares in Cetip, S.A. (BOVESPA: CTIP3). Cetip is a publicly traded company and is Brazil's largest clearing house, as well as the leading operator of registration and custodial services for securities, fixed-income bonds and OTC derivatives.

NYSE Euronext Notified Of Preliminary Acceptance By Deutsche Boerse Shareholders Of Proposed Combination

NYSE Euronext (NYSE:NYX) announced today that it has been notified by Deutsche Boerse AG (XETRA DB1) that, on a preliminary basis, more than 80% of Deutsche Boerse shareholders tendered their shares by July 13th, 2011, surpassing the requisite 75% needed to approve our proposed combination.

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced that starting tomorrow, Friday, July 15, 2011, the Price Improvement Mechanism (PIM) for options classes traded on the OptimiseTM platform will be enhanced to accept multi-legged option orders. In addition to the numerous technical benefits of the new trading system, such as lower latency and higher throughput, this feature represents one of the first value-added attributes of the new technology that will directly benefit options customers.

Based on the declarations of acceptance booked and/or submitted so far by custodian banks for the offer from Alpha Beta Netherlands Holding N.V. to shareholders of Deutsche Börse AG in connection with the planned combination of Deutsche Börse with NYSE Euronext the minimum acceptance threshold of 75 percent has been exceeded (completion conditions pursuant to section 14.1 (a) of the offer document published on 4 May 2011). The preliminary acceptance rate currently stands at above 80 percent.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) yesterday announced that on July 5, 2011, Judge Virginia M. Kendall of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois entered a supplemental consent order imposing a $2.1 million civil monetary penalty on Joseph A. Dawson of Fox Lake, Ill. The CFTC charged Dawson and his company, Dawson Trading LLC (Dawson Trading) of McHenry, Ill., with fraudulent solicitation and misappropriation of customer funds in a commodity pool scheme (see CFTC Press Release 5860-10, July 26, 2010).
