Tradeweb Expands Dealerweb Division With Brokerage Acquisition - Plans Launch Of Electronic Treasury Trading Platform

Tradeweb Markets announced it has completed the acquisition of the brokerage assets of Rafferty Capital Markets, LLC, a New York-based registered broker-dealer. It also plans to launch an electronic inter-dealer marketplace for U.S. Treasuries later this year. The moves reflect an ongoing strategy to expand Dealerweb, its inter-dealer division, following the 2008 purchase of the brokerage firm Hilliard Farber & Co, Inc.

Financial Stability Oversight Council Takes Critical Step To Carry Out Wall Street Reform, Prevent Future Financial Crises

The Financial Stability Oversight Council (“the Council”) today took a key step forward to monitor and mitigate potential threats to U.S. financial stability and protect the American taxpayer by releasing details on the proposed process it will follow to determine whether a nonbank financial company should be subject to enhanced supervision. In the recent financial crisis, financial distress at certain nonbank financial companies contributed to a broad seizing up of financial markets. An important component of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“the Dodd-Frank Act”), this authority provided to the Council is one of a number of tools now available to help prevent a future financial crisis.

BM&FBOVESPA announces that the trading times for the BOVESPA segment shall be changed as of October 17, due to the start of daylight saving time in Brazil on October 16. There shall be regular trading in a continuous session from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The After-Market shall operate uninterruptedly from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In the period up to October 14, regular trading shall be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and After-Market trading from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
