MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI), a leading provider of investment decision support tools worldwide, and BM&FBOVESPA S.A. – Bolsa de Valores, Mercadorias e Futuros (“BVMF”), the largest equity and futures exchange in Latin America and one of the five biggest exchanges in the world in market value, announced today that they have reached a preliminary agreement on key terms regarding the provision of real time stock market data. With this preliminary agreement, the calculation of MSCI real time indices will continue as normal to support a range of financial products. The parties will now work on the completion of binding documentation.

While neither formal conclusions nor final decisions are to be expected, the meeting will be an opportunity to identify the main elements of a growth agenda in the perspective of the June European Council.

European Parliament President Schulz: Act Now Or Risk Europe Tearing Apart

EP president Martin Schulz has called on member states to come up with concrete measures to create jobs and growth in the coming weeks to avoid Europe sinking deeper into economic and social turmoil. Mr Schulz made the appeal in a bold speech at the informal EU summit dedicated to growth in Brussels on 23 May. He said: "In the current situation, half-hearted statements of intent are simply not enough."

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) obtained a federal court consent order of permanent injunction requiring defendant, Kent R.E. Whitney (Whitney), a former floor broker of Chicago, Ill., to pay a $600,000 civil monetary penalty for making false and misleading statements to Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) representatives, futures commission merchants (FCMs), and others in connection with an elaborate scheme to trade options without posting the required margin (see CFTC Press Release 5952-10, December 10, 2010).
