  • The Options Industry Council Announces October Volume Increased 14 Percent

    The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that 390,982,436 total options contracts changed hands in October, a 14.32 percent increase over October of last year when 342,006,211 contracts were traded.

  • Carbon Disclosure Project Invites Most Populated Cities To Report Water Information For First Time

    The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has invited 140 of the world’s most populated cities to report information on their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies, as part of the second annual disclosure cycle of its CDP Cities program.  CDP is also asking cities, for the first time, to report on their water use and water risks alongside their carbon and climate change activities, due to the significant risk this finite resource poses to cities. 

  • OCC Announces Total Cleared Volume Rose 14% In October

    OCC announced today that total cleared contract volume reached 393,461,669 contracts in October, representing a 14 percent increase over the October 2010 volume of 344,148,365 contracts. OCC year-to-date total contract volume is up 22 percent with 3,931,963,023 contracts in 2011.

    A total of 3,260,529 transactions were conducted in October – a decline of 18.7%compared with the previous month. Some 34,137,915 transactions were conducted between January and October 2011. This corresponds to an increase of 16.1% year- on-year. The strongest growth was recorded in the ETFs segment (+51.5%), followed by the equities incl. funds, ETSFs and ETPs segment (+16.1%).
