HKEx: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 27 July 2012 (Friday), 17 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 104 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 560 after the revision.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) wishes to make a clarification on market rumours today about a potential merger between the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and SGX. SGX has not engaged in talks with the LSE on a potential merger. However, we are open to collaborations and partnerships which may benefit our shareholders and the company. SGX will notify the market of any material developments as required under the Securities and Futures Act and the SGX-ST Listing Rules.

Securities Commission Malaysia Charges Senior Corporate Lawyer Dato’ E. Sreesanthan For Insider Trading

The Securities Commission (SC) today charged Dato’ Sreesanthan Eliathamby, a corporate lawyer who sits on the boards of several public listed companies, with seven counts of insider trading. Dato’ Sreesanthan was charged with insider trading in the shares of four listed companies between 2006 and 2008.
