Euro area Heads of State or Government appointed Herman Van Rompuy as President of the Euro Summit.

They welcome the progress made on the new Greek programme, and notably the agreement reached by the Eurogroup on the policy package and the offer made to private creditors. The objective of the programme is to put the Greek economy back on a sustainable footing, to ensure debt sustainability and restore competitiveness. They also welcome the legislation on the agreed prior actions by the Greek authorities which will enable the formal adoption of the programme in the coming days.

Let me begin with congratulation to Herman van Rompuy – for his re-election for the second period as President of the European Council and also for his election as the President of the Euro summit. I would like to express my admiration for his work. He has provided much needed coherence to the European Council's work. I would like to state my high personal appreciation of the way in which he has been doing this with prudence, patience and intelligence. And also my very personal appreciation of the way we are working closely together, very smoothly "across the street", meeting every week. And also, not only across the street. In our summit with international partners I believe today that there is a much more stable and coherent position on behalf of the European Union, when European Union representatives – President of the European Council, President of the European Commision work together with our major partners. So, my congratulations and my best wishes for your mandate.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange: 2011 Performance Of SME Board Listed Companies

Up to March 01, 2012, 655 companies listed on SME board had disclosed 2011 performance as scheduled; among these companies, 79 had made the disclosure on annual report, 571 had disclosed the performance express news, and 5 newly-listed companies had disclosed the annual finance materials in listing announcements. According to the data, the SME listed companies had the growth in the performance at the slow pace due to such adverse factors as the complicated economic situations, the rise in the workforce cost. The average operating income reached 1.993 billion yuan in 2011, rising 23.81 percent compared with the previous year; the average net profits going to the ownership of the respective parent companies amounted to 159 million yuan, up 11.02 percent compared with the previous year; and the average EPS was 0.54 yuan with the return rate on assets averaging 11.74 percent.
