CME Group Sees Record Trading In Its Global FX Complex - Transacted $239 Billion In Notional Volume Across FX Futures And Options

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives exchange, yesterday saw record trading in electronic FX options, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar and open interest in Australian dollar. Total FX futures and options volume for yesterday was 1,925,549 contracts with a notional value of $238,900,876,449 — the fourth largest day ever and largest of the year in terms of notional value.

SEC Charges Whittier Trust And Fund Manager In Insider Trading Investigation Into Expert Networks

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a South Pasadena, Calif.-based wealth management company and a former fund manager with insider trading on non-public information about technology companies. The charges are the agency’s latest in its ongoing investigation into expert networks and hedge fund trading.

The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) has admitted Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland Ltd (“Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland”) as a Primary Dealer in Irish Government Bonds. The admission of Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland as a Primary Dealer extends the firm’s existing trading activities on the ISE, where it currently trades equities on the ISE’s electronic trading platform, ISE Xetra®. Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland provides institutional bond and equity market trading and dealing, investment banking services, retail stockbroking, and pension services to its clients.
