Why has ASIC failed to carry out an investigation in such an important case?
An ASIC statement in March 2012 discussed the Australian Federal Police’s referral to ASIC about bribery allegations concerning Securency International Pty Ltd and Note Printing Australia Limited. The statement said ASIC had reviewed the AFP’s material for possible directors’ duty breaches of the Corporations Act and had decided not to take the matter further. This decision followed a thorough assessment of the information. -
Shanghai Stock Exchange, CSDCC Q&A On “Pre-issuance (Trial) Of Treasury Bonds”

On September 26, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and China Securities Depository & Clearing Corp., Ltd. (CSDCC) released the “Business Measures on Trading, Registration and Settlement of Pre-issuance (Trial) of Treasury Bonds” (the “Measures” for short). The issue of the “Measures” indicated that China’s treasury bonds pre-issuance business is to be released soon. Officials of the SSE and CSDCC made a detailed introduction on the background and meaning of the release of the “Measures”, as well as its major content in an interview.

Nodal Exchange Receives CFTC Approval To Register As A Designated Contract Market

Nodal Exchange, LLC (Nodal Exchange) announced today that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has approved its application to be registered as a Designated Contract Market (DCM). The application was filed on October 11, 2012. Nodal Exchange will begin operation as a DCM effective on September 30, 2013.

A few articles covering this are focusing on trading in Gold. We singled out gold because it was one of the few instruments with high activity in the minutes before the 2pm announcement. This high activity preceeding the release allowed us to verify that the exchange time stamps we used later, were accurate.
