    Last week, Shenzhen Component Index stood at 7883.8 points after adding 4.1%. SME Index edged up 6.0% to 5330.3 points. ChiNext Index advanced 1.3% to 1515.8 points. Total turnover for stocks and funds on SZSE was US$159.9 billion, or a 110.9% increase from the week before.

    The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Hotel in Abu Dhabi witnessed today the launching of the "Market Maker 2014 Conference"  which was organized by Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange ADX under the title, "The market maker, and a step towards boosting UAE markets". The conference was held with the participation of more than 300 local, regional and international financial market experts and stakeholders.

    In the presence of H.E. Sultan Nasser Al Sowaidi, Governor of the UAE Central Bank, H.E Nasser Ahmed Alsowaidi, the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in an opening speech of the Conference, said that Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange since its establishment on 15 April 2000, as the official financial market of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has accomplished many achievements, thanks to the efforts of developers and the confidence of investors in the economic performance of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

  • EBA Launches Discussion On The Impact On The Volatility Of Own Funds Of The Accounting And Prudential Changes In The Treatment Of Defined Benefit Pension Plans

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a discussion paper on the impact on the volatility of own funds of the revised International Accounting Standard for employee benefits (IAS 19) and the deduction of defined benefit pension assets from own funds in accordance with the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) . The input gathered from this discussion paper will assist or inform the EBA in the preparation of its report to the European Commission on this topic. The consultation runs until 14 April 2014.
