  • Vienna Stock Exchange Acquires Two New International Trading Members

    The Vienna Stock Exchange is pleased to welcome two new UK-based trading members - Hudson River Trading Europe Ltd started trading on the cash market of the Vienna Stock Exchange on 14 March and Spire Europe Limited started trading today, 17 March. Both financial service providers have registered offices in London. In the previous year four new members were admitted to the Vienna Stock Exchange. In total, 34 domestic and 59 international market participants are currently members of the Vienna Stock Exchange.

    The EUR 10m acquisition of the UK-based company and its subsequent full integration into the SimCorp organization will enhance and support SimCorp’s strategy of growing the business based on its single product platform – SimCorp Dimension, while also providing selected applications as standalone solutions to leading investment managers . Prior to the full acquisition, SimCorp held a 20% stake in the private limited company’s share capital.

    James H. Freis, Jr., is the new Chief Compliance Officer for Deutsche Börse Group. He takes over the responsibility from Michael Steinicke effective as of 1 April 2014. In this capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and company policies, as well as responsibilities towards supervisory authorities, among all Group entities. Deutsche Börse has committed to significantly expand its compliance organisation at group level, consistent with its leading and innovative role in this continually evolving global regulatory environment, and in tandem with pursuing its global growth strategy.

    Between August and November 2013, EDHEC-Risk Institute surveyed 109 institutional investors from across Europe, including Europe’s largest pension and reserve funds, insurance and provident institutions and their asset management subsidiaries, to document their expectations and requirements with respect to index transparency and take stock of their perceptions of, and the extent of their support for, the main directions of the ongoing regulatory debate on indexing and financial benchmarks.
