OCC Reports Third Quarter Trading Revenue Of $5.7 Billion

Insured U.S. commercial banks and savings institutions reported trading revenue of $5.7 billion in the third quarter of 2014, down $0.7 billion, or 11 percent, from $6.4 billion in the previous quarter, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) reported today.

This week on TOM MTF a total of 826,818 equity and index option contracts were traded resulting in a 34% TOM MTF market share. The highest weekly turnover in TOM’s history was recorded, surpassing the previous record.

EEX Adjusts Auction Calendar For 2015 – Croatia To Join Auctions On The Common EU Auction Platform

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has admitted Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund as auctioneer for Croatia. As a result, Croatia fulfills all requirements for the participation in the emissions auctions on the common EU auction platform. As a result, EEX will auction emission allowances on behalf of Croatia from the beginning of 2015.

Financial Stability Oversight Council Announces Nonbank Financial Company Designation - Council Names MetLife For Consolidated Supervision And Enhanced Prudential Standards

The Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) today announced that it voted to designate a nonbank financial company to address potential threats to financial stability. The Council used its authority under Title I of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the Dodd-Frank Act) to subject MetLife, Inc. to consolidated supervision and enhanced prudential standards. The vote was nine to one.

European Commission - Fit For Service: Council Appoints Permanent Members Of The Single Resolution Board And Adopts The Methodology For Banks' Contributions To The Resolutions Funds

Today the Council formally appointed the Chair, the Vice-Chair and the four other permanent members of the Single Resolution Board. This concludes a recruitment process which started in July 2014. The methodology for calculating banks' contributions to the Single Resolution Fund was also been adopted today.

Today Reuters, the world’s largest multimedia news provider, announced a new UK edition of its news app for iOS and Android devices. This is the first time a UK edition of the Reuters app has been available for download, and it launches alongside new versions in Chinese and Japanese, each customised to deliver regionally-relevant content as well as global news coverage.
