Monthly ETF/ETN trading value recovered to above JPY 2 trillion in June
- Trading value in the ETF/ETN market in June 2014 exceeded JPY 2 trillion for the first time since April, with daily average trading value reaching about JPY 97.7 billion.
- Leveraged ETFs continued to be a driving force in the market, with NEXT FUND S Nikkei 225 Leveraged Index ETF (1570) maintaining its more than 60% share of ETF/ETN market trading value.
- TOPIX Bear -2x ETF (1356), listed on May 29, 2014, saw trading value gains and ranked 13th overall.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced an agreement with Uber, a mobile application that connects riders with for-hire vehicles, to limit prices during “abnormal disruptions of the market” – typically, emergencies and natural disasters -- consistent with New York’s price gouging statute. In addition, Uber is expected to announce a national policy to limit pricing in emergencies that is based on this agreement.

SEC Charges California School District With Misleading Investors - Settlement Is First Under Initiative Targeting Municipal Disclosure

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a school district in California with misleading bond investors about its failure to provide contractually required financial information and notices. The case is the first to be resolved under a new SEC initiative to address materially inaccurate statements in municipal bond offering documents.

SIX Swiss Exchange: Index Adjustments On The Occasion Of The Ordinary Index Review

The Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange has decided to make changes to SIX Swiss Exchange index baskets on the basis of a recommendation from the Index Commission and in compliance with the SMI®, SLI®, SPI® and SXI® index rules. The indices will be adjusted on 19 September 2014 after closing. The adjustment takes effect on 22 September 2014.

EBA Publishes New XBRL Taxonomy For Remittance Of Supervisory Reporting As Of 30 September 2014

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today an XBRL taxonomy to be used by competent authorities for remittance of data under the EBA Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on supervisory reporting. It presents the data items, business concepts, relations, visualisations and validation rules described by the EBA Data Point Model (DPM) contained in the ITS on supervisory reporting, including the amendments relating to asset encumbrance, forbearance and non-performing exposures. The taxonomy proposed by the EBA will lead to greater efficiency in and convergence of supervisory practices across Members States. The reference date is as of 30 September 2014 onwards and it includes the first reports under FINREP.
