  • TMX Group: Shorcan 17th Annual Charity Day Raises Over $640,000

    Shorcan Brokers Limited (Shorcan), TMX Group's fixed income interdealer brokerage, today announced the results of its 17th Annual Charity Day on January 22, 2015. Revenue from the day's trading activity amounted to more than $640,000. Shorcan will donate 100% of yesterday's revenue to over 20 designated charities. To date, the program has raised a total of over $7.1 million.

    The securities regulatory authorities in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan (participating jurisdictions) have published for comment Proposed Multilateral Instruments 91-101 Derivatives: Product Determination and 96-101 Trade Repositories and Derivatives Data Reporting. Together, these proposed instruments would form a derivatives reporting regime that is largely harmonized with regimes previously implemented in Manitoba, Ontario and Québec.
