Canadian Securities Regulators Seek Comments On Proposed Amendments Related To Gender Diversity

The securities regulatory authorities in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories and Nunavut (the Participating Jurisdictions) today published for comment proposed amendments to Form 58-101F1 Corporate Governance Disclosure (Form 58-101F1) of National Instrument 58-101 Disclosure of Corporate Governance Practices (NI 58-101) (the Proposed Amendments). These amendments were previously published for comment by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) on January 16, 2014.

EBA Consults On Technical Standards On Home Host Cooperation In The EU Banking Sector

The EBA launched a public consultation on standards on colleges of supervisors and on standards on joint decisions on approval of internal models. The technical standards on colleges detail supervisory activities performed by colleges in going concern and emergency situations, while the ITS on joint decisions relate to the approval of internal models and detail the processes to be followed by competent authorities when reaching joint decisions. These standards aim at facilitating the interaction and cooperation between authorities at EU and global level and strengthening supervision of cross-border banking groups across the EU.

ISDA Publishes 2014 ISDA Korean Law Credit Support Annex (Bilateral Form - Loan And Pledge) & User's Guide

ISDA has today published the 2014 ISDA Korean Law Credit Support Annex (Bilateral Form - Loan and Pledge) which has been prepared for use in documenting bilateral security and other credit support arrangements between counterparties for transactions documented under an ISDA Master Agreement for which the parties intend to use two different methods (pledge and lending) of providing Korean collateral between counterparties to transactions documented under a 1992 ISDA Master Agreement or 2002 ISDA Master Agreement. A User’s Guide has also been published alongside the Annex. Both documents are available for purchase in the ISDA Bookstore.

EBA Advises On The Prudential Filter For Gains And Losses From Own Credit Risk Related To Derivatives

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its technical advice to the European Commission on the use of a prudential filter for gains and losses arising from banks' own credit risk of derivatives. The Authority considers as appropriate not to deviate from the current prudential approach applied at the international level under the Basel III rules, i.e. full deduction of institutions' own credit risk of derivatives. The work of the EBA will inform the work of the EU Commission on the topic.

PEGAS: Trading Results For June: All-Time Record On PEGAS – Monthly Records In TTF Spot And Futures

PEGAS, the natural gas platform commonly established by the European Energy Exchange (EEX) and Powernext, announced that a total volume of 48.8 TWh was traded in June 2014 compared to 15.6 TWh in the same period of the previous year. This represents the highest monthly volume that has been traded in these markets so far.

Strong Services Performance In SGX New Bond Listings In 1H14

- Strong momentum in the bond market continued in 2014 as shown in the half-year performance in SGX’s new bond listings. From Jan-Jun 2014, 259 new bonds were listed, up 16% compared to same period last year. S$112.3 billion was raised in 1H14, up 8% compared to the same period last year.
- Of the bonds listed on SGX in June, 53% are rated and 47% are unrated. Bond issuers may use credit enhancement features to improve the bond’s credit rating or may issue unrated bonds even if the issuers have credit ratings.
- Robust investor appetites for Thai bond issues and China’s Hainan Airlines returned to Singapore’s RMB-bond market in June with a re-tap of a previous transaction completed in May.
