RMB Strengthens Its Position As The Second Most Used Currency For Documentary Credit Transactions - SWIFT RMB Tracker Shows RMB’s Activity Share For Documentary Credit Transactions Increased To 9.43% In January 2015

Last month’s SWIFT RMB Tracker covered the Renminbi (‘RMB’) breaking into the top five world currencies used in global payments. This month the focus is on the use of RMB as currency for documentary credit transactions. Recent SWIFT data shows that the RMB’s activity share for documentary credits increased in value from 7.32% in January 2013 to 9.43% in January 2015. This strengthens the RMB’s position as the second most used currency for this purpose, ranking behind the USD which remains the leading currency for documentary credits with a share of nearly 80%.

Shanghai Stock Exchange Turned Into Comprehensive Exchange With SSE 50 ETF Option Launched

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) embraces another historical moment on February 9. The launch of the SSE 50 ETF option contract, the first stock option product, marks the entry of China’s capital market into the era of option. This means that the SSE has become the first comprehensive exchange in China with a product line ranging from the spot market to the derivatives market, and also that China’s capital market has gained in-depth development and become more complete. All this will further promote Shanghai’s status as an international financial center and enhance its global influence.

Korea Exchange: Major Overhaul Of The Listing Eligibility Review System To Reduce Time And Enhance Predictability

The Korea Exchange (KRX) completely amended the listing eligibility review guideline in order to reinforce its proactive support for the companies to be listed on the KOSPI market and turn its listing eligibility review system into a customer-oriented scheme by having in place the objective qualitative listing eligibility review criteria, and implemented the new guideline on Monday, February 23, 2015.

Shanghai Stock Exchange: Launching Ceremony Of Stock Option Held

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) today holds the ceremony for launching of stock option. Han Zheng, Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Chief of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Xiao Gang, Party Chief and Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Committee (CSRC), jointly struck the gong to open the stock option market. Yang Xiong, Mayor of Shanghai, and Gui Minjie, SSE Chairman of the Governors, unveiled the SSE 50 ETF option contract.
