The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today published for comment its 2015-2016 Draft Statement of Priorities (Draft Statement). The Draft Statement sets out priority areas where the OSC intends to focus key resources and actions for the coming fiscal year, as well as the expected outcomes.

BM&FBOVESPA announced today the launch of initiatives to enhance the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises. The initiatives are backed by CVM (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários), Brazil’s securities and exchange commission, and are meant for SOEs in general, whether wholly or partly owned by the federal government or states and cities, and whether or not they are listed on the stock exchange. The idea is that they sign up to the program voluntarily.

The Financial Stability Board, at its Plenary meeting in Frankfurt on 26 March, appointed the chairs of three of its Standing Committees as from 1 April 2015, in view of the expiration of the previous two-year terms on 31 March 2015:

• Mr Glenn Stevens, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), has been appointed as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Assessment of Vulnerabilities (SCAV), succeeding Agustin Carstens, Governor of Banco de México. Mr Stevens is appointed for a term ending on 17 September 2016, when his term as RBA Governor ends.
