The average daily turnover in January 2016 was $82.2 billion, a decrease of 16 per cent when compared with $97.4 billion for the same period last year.

The average daily turnover of derivative warrants in January 2016 was $17.5 billion, an increase of 7 per cent when compared with $16.3 billion for the same period last year.

The average daily turnover of CBBCs in January 2016 was $8.1 billion, an increase of 5 per cent when compared with $7.7 billion for the same period last year.

TOCOM January Volume Averaged 128,910 Contracts Per Day, Up 27.5 % - Crude Oil Futures Volume Hit New High For Second Consecutive Month

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange announced today that average daily volume for January 2016 was 128,910 contracts, up 27.5% from December 2015. TOCOM Dubai Crude Oil, one of TOCOM’s leading contracts, saw volume rise sharply - up 54.5% to 37,016 contracts. The Gold standard contract was also active with volume increasing 19.0% to 32,488 contracts.

CME Group Increases Dividend By 20 Percent

CME Group Inc., the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today declared a first-quarter dividend of $0.60 per share, a 20 percent increase from the prior rate of $0.50 per share. The dividend is payable March 28, 2016, to shareholders of record as of March 10, 2016.

CFTC Charges Florida-Based Oakmont Financial, Inc. And Joseph Charles DiCrisci With Engaging In Illegal, Off-Exchange Precious Metals Transactions

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a civil injunctive enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Defendants Oakmont Financial, Inc. (Oakmont) of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Joseph Charles DiCrisci of New York, New York, an Oakmont owner and principal. The CFTC Complaint charges the Defendants with engaging in illegal, off-exchange transactions in precious metals with retail customers on a leveraged, margined, or financed basis. The Complaint further alleges that DiCrisci managed, or controlled those who controlled, the day-to-day operations of Oakmont, and therefore, as controlling person for Oakmont, is liable for Oakmont’s violations of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).

Trading value in the equity market (BOVESPA segment) totaled BRL 99.65 billion in January compared with BRL 132.64 billion the previous month. Average daily trading value was BRL 5.24 billion, vis-à-vis BRL 6.63 billion in December. Total volume reached 17,571,751 from 18,238,250 the previous month. Average daily volume was 924,829 (911,913 in December).
