A turnover of 1.133 billion shares worth N9.463 billion in 16,680 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange in contrast to a total of 2.177 billion shares valued at N10.753 billion that exchanged hands last week in 21,471 deals.
Europex Welcomes IBEX As 26th Member

Today, Europex admitted its 26th member: the Independent Bulgarian Power Exchange (IBEX). IBEX was established in 2014 and is based in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. It started its electricity day-ahead market less than two weeks ago, on 19 January 2016, and currently also works on the establishment of a complementing electricity intra-day market. Massimo Ricci, Chairman of Europex, commented: “We are delighted to welcome one of Europe’s youngest energy exchanges among our members. Bulgaria has always been and remains an important player in the energy markets in Southeastern Europe and IBEX’ membership further extends the geographical scope of Europex.”
