Guide, Drive, Guarantee Capital Market Development Through Rule Of Law - The 5th Shanghai Stock Exchange Legal Forum Held In Beijing
To further implement the guiding principle of “Decisions on Major Issues of Comprehensive Promotion of Rule of Law” delivered during the 4th Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, the 5th SSE Legal Forum was held in Beijing on December 27. Organized by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and jointly undertaken by China Renmin University, Peking University and East China University of Political Science and Law, the forum featured the theme of “Market Management Based on Rule of Law: Realistic Choice and Promotion Route of China’s Capital Market”. Attending the meeting and delivering speeches were officials including Zhuang Xinyi, Vice Chair of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Xin Chunying, Deputy Director of the Legal System Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Xi Xiaoming, Deputy Director of the Supreme People’s Court of the PRC, Sun Qian, Deputy Chief Procurator of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the PRC, Gan Zangchun, Deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, Gui Minjie, SSE Chairman of the Governors, and Chen Yulu, President of China Renmin University. Around 100 scholars, experts and market professionals from legislation, justice, law-enforcement departments, universities and research institutes also attended the meeting.

European Commission - A Single Rulebook For The Resolution Of Failing Banks Will Apply In The EU As Of 1 January 2015
A single rulebook for the resolution of banks and large investment firms in all EU Member States is set to enter into force as of 1 January 2015. The new rules will harmonise and improve the tools for dealing with bank crises across the EU. They will also ensure shareholders and creditors of the banks pay their share of the costs through a "bail-in" mechanism.

Arab Palestinian Investment Company- APIC - has been selected in the composite of companies comprising Al-Quds Index of Palestine Exchange starting January 1st 2015. This comes responding to APIC share performance since its listing on March 2nd 2014. Main parameters for APIC qualification included market capitalization, trading volume & value, turnover ratio, profitability, among others.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For China Life Insurance Futures Contracts
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 5 January 2015, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Dalian Commodity Exchange’s 2nd Batch Of Extended-Hours Trading Products Light Up The Market
From the evening of December 26 to the morning of the 27th, the second batch of night-trading futures products of Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), including No. 1 Soybeans, No. 2 Soybeans, Soybean Meal and Soybean Oil as well as Coking Coal and Iron Ore, were smoothly put into trading on line, bringing the number of DCE’s night-trading products to 8. During the trading process on the night, with the significant interaction of soybean products with the international markets and the attention of the international markets drawn to the coal and ore products, the products of the two sectors lighted up the night-trading market.

UAE's Securities And Commodities Authority Statement On Short-Selling
In response to the short-selling practices circulated in some news media reports over the past few days, which have negatively affected the performance of the stock market index, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) issued the following statement:- The technical regulations and trading mechanisms of the UAE financial markets do not permit, or support, short-selling practices up to this point, unless done in accordance with the SCA Board Decision No. (48) concerning the Regulations as to Short-Selling of Securities.
- SCA has not issued approvals to any local bodies to practice short-selling.

Dalian Commodity Exchange Notice On Night-Trading Time During 2015 New Year’s Holiday
According to relevant regulations on night trading of Dalian Commodity Exchange, no night trading is conducted on the evening of December 31 (Wednesday); the call auction time for all futures products on January 5 is from 08:55 to 09:00; and night trading is resumed in the evening of January 5.
