UK Financial Conduct Authority: Clarifying Our Supervisory Intentions: Overall Responsibility For The Legal Function Under The Senior Managers Regime

It has come to our attention that there is uncertainty as to whether an individual in charge of a firm’s legal function requires approval under our Senior Managers regime. This statement:
- describes our plans to consult on this area; and
- makes clear that firms that have sought to make decisions in good faith about whether or not approval is needed, on the basis of our published rules and other communications, should not need to change their approach in the interim.

Women in ETFs (WE) celebrated its two-year anniversary at Inside ETFs conference in Hollywood Florida with a breakfast event. In 2015 WE expanded membership to 1,600 with over 900 new members added. U.S. chapters in Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Washington represent 60% of current membership, with 21% from Europe, 9% from Canada and 10% from Asia Pacific. WE’s mission is to connect, support, and inspire women and men across the ETF industry, spanning fund managers, exchanges, index providers, brokers, lawyers and custodians. A large part of its programs include high-quality of education, networking, and charitable events it offers both members and non-members.

TSX And S&P Dow Jones Indices Sign Multi-Year Agreement

TMX Group (TMX) and S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) today announced a renewal of the multi-year Index Operation and License Agreement (Agreement) between TSX Inc. and S&P DJI, further extending their long-standing and successful partnership. The Agreement will ensure that market participants will continue to have access to a comprehensive suite of investable indices for the Canadian equity markets, as well as North American and global markets. Executives and other representatives from TMX and S&P DJI will later today hold a market close ceremony to celebrate the Agreement.
