Rival Systems (Rival), a leading provider of trading and risk management software, has won Buy-Side Technology’s 2016 award for “Best Buy-Side Commodities Trading Platform.” Officials from the Waters Technology publication announced the award for the firm’s Rival Trader and Rival API offerings on Friday in London.

The Market Misconduct Tribunal (MMT) today found that AcrossAsia Limited (AcrossAsia), its former chairman, Mr Albert Saychuan Cheok and chief executive officer, Mr Vicente Binalhay Ang failed to disclose inside information as soon as reasonably practicable as required under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) following proceedings brought by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Dubai’s Department of Finance (DoF) and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB). According to this agreement, DIB became the first bank to enable investors who participate in IPOs and Rights Issues implemented through DFM’s “eIPO” platform, to subscribe by directly debiting their accounts as well as receiving the excess amounts.

European Stability Mechanism Approves Spain’s Fourth Early Repayment

The Board of Directors of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) approved a request by Spain to make a voluntary early repayment of €1 billion of its ESM loan. This is the fourth time that Spain has offered to make an early repayment after receiving a loan to recapitalise its banks in 2012 and 2013. Following this payment, Spain’s outstanding debt to the ESM will be €34.7 billion.
