(OSE) will partially revise the Clearing and Settlement Regulations, etc. in connection with the expansion of the user range of at Japan Securities Clearing Corporation (JSCC), which is aimed at reducing the burden on IRS Clearing Participants for collateral obligations by enabling offsetting of risks related to JGB futures and IRS.

Office Of Financial Research Update - New Data Highlight Changes In Systemic Risk Posed By U.S. And Chinese Banks

The Office of Financial Research posted a blog today by Deputy Director for Research and Analysis Stacey Schreft, entitled, “New Data Highlight Changes in Systemic Risk Posed by U.S. and Chinese Banks.” The blog says, three of the biggest U.S. banks have moved up in systemic risk ratings, according to new international data the OFR added today to its online interactive chart. The risk ratings of Chinese banks also rose, continuing a three-year trend.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that on December 9, 2016, the Honorable Sara L. Ellis of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois issued an Opinion and Order (Order) finding that Defendant Yumin Li stole in excess of $300,000 from Li’s former employer by trading the employer’s account noncompetitively against an account belonging to co-Defendant Kering Capital Ltd. (Kering), a British Virgin Islands (BVI) company formed by Li’s mother.

ESMA Recognises ICE Clear US Inc. As Third-Country CCP Under EMIR

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today added ICE Clear US Inc. to its list of recognised third-country central counterparties (CCPs) under the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). EMIR requires EU-based CCPs to be authorised and non-EU CCPs to be recognised in the European Union (EU). Once a CCP has been authorised or recognised within the EU, EU firms can use these CCP to fulfil their clearing obligations.
