Statement By IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde On Greece

Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued the following statement today after a meeting with Greece’s Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos:

“I met today with Minister Tsakalotos and his team. We had constructive discussions in preparation for the return of the mission to discuss the two legs of the Greece program: policies and debt relief.” 

EU Parliament President Antonio Tajani In London: “Citizens Deserve Certainty Regarding Their Post-Brexit Future”

Antonio Tajani stressed the importance of a deal to safeguard people’s rights in the wake of Brexit during a meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May this morning. "The European Parliament's message is clear: strongly defending their interests is our first priority,” he said. The Parliament President was in London to discuss the institution’s position on the Brexit negotiations, which was adopted in plenary on 5 April. He also invited May to address the Parliament.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange Holds 2017 Members’ Assembly

On April 15, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) held the 2017 general assembly of members in order to further improve its corporate governance structure, strengthen its front-line regulatory responsibility and advance the measures of “administering the market by law” and “managing the exchange by law”. At the assembly, Liu Shiyu, chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), gave a keynote speech, CSRC vice chairman Jiang Yang gave a summary speech and Shenzhen vice mayor Ai Xuefeng also delivered an address. The assembly was presided over by SZSE chairman Wu Lijun and attended by representatives from 114 members, 2 special members, relevant departments of the CSRC, regional offices of the CSRC, institutions under the administration of the CSRC, relevant departments of Shenzhen Municipal Government, and market institutions and news media.
