Striving To Build Shenzhen Stock Exchange Into An Innovation Capital Formation Center - Speech By Mr. Wang Jianjun, President And CEO Of SZSE, At The 2017 (19th) China Venture Capital & Private Equity Forum, June 17, 2017
Date 22/06/2017
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon!
I’m honored to attend the 19th China Venture Capital & Private Equity Forum. Over the past 19 years, the forum has not only been a feast for the exchange and clash of ideas of the venture capital/private equity (VC/PE) industry, but also an investment & financing platform that provides service for innovation and entrepreneurship. To serve and support innovation and entrepreneurship is the mission and responsibility of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE). Of the nearly 2000 listed companies on the SZSE, more than 70 percent are hi-tech enterprises. Particularly on the ChiNext Market, as many as 93 percent of listed companies are hi-tech businesses. SZSE has become a gathering place of China’s new economy and the ideal listing venue for technological innovation-based enterprises.

Thanks also to Joanna Rejman, and all of the other conference organizers, for the invitation to speak here today, at this year’s Buy-Side Risk USA 2017, and for all of the preparation required to make an event like this happen. I’m glad to be back and, over the course of the next 20 minutes, I plan to provide an update to some of the thoughts I last shared in April 2016. Before I begin, let me give the standard disclaimer that the views I express today are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Commission or its staff.

Date 21/06/2017
Chairman Crapo, Ranking Member Brown, and members of the committee, I appreciate the opportunity to testify at today's hearing on the relationship between regulation and economic growth. We need a resilient, well-capitalized, well-regulated financial system that is strong enough to withstand even severe shocks and support economic growth by lending through the economic cycle. The Federal Reserve has approached the post-crisis regulatory and supervisory reforms with that outcome in mind.
