Nigerian Stock Exchange Review Market Indices

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE or “The Exchange”) is pleased to announce the expected review of the NSE 30, and the six sectoral indices of the Exchange, which are NSE Consumer Goods, NSE Banking, NSE Insurance, NSE Industrial, NSE Oil & Gas and the NSE Lotus Islamic Indices.
CFTC Issues Order Finding That McVean Trading & Investments, LLC - Charles Dow Mcvean, Sr.; Michael J. Wharton; And Samuel C. Gilmore Used A Manipulative Or Deceptive Device And Exceeded Position Limits In The Live Cattle Futures Market And Imposing Penalties Totaling $5 Million

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today entered an Order filing and simultaneously settling charges against Respondents McVean Trading & Investments, LLC (MTI), a Memphis-based Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), its Chairman and CEO, Charles Dow McVean, Sr. (McVean), and President, Michael J. Wharton (Wharton), and long-time MTI consultant Samuel C. Gilmore (Gilmore). The Order finds that, by secretly using cattle feedyards as straw purchasers for hundreds of long live cattle futures contracts — which at some points more than doubled CME spot month position limits — McVean and Wharton intentionally or recklessly used a manipulative or deceptive device to inject false information into the market, which had the potential to affect the live cattle futures market. By using these straw purchasers, McVean and Wharton were able to control substantial portions of the market without disclosing that control, which caused other market participants, including live cattle traders with open short positions, to see wider market interest, participation, and fragmentation on the long side of the market than actually existed.

According to a communiqué issued by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Eid Al Fiter, all ministries and public departments will be off from Sunday, 25 June- Wednesday, 28 June, 2017. Accordingly, The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) will have a holiday on Sunday, 25 June- Until Wednesday, 28 June, 2017. The ASE will be back to work on Thursday 29 June, 2017.
MGEX Reports Best Monthly Volume In Exchange History

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), reports the highest volume month in the history of the Exchange. Total volume now stands at 290,871 contracts with eight days remaining.

ESMA Calls Experts To Join Post-Trading Panel

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) today has launched a process to renew the composition of its Consultative Working Group (CWG) of the ESMA Post-Trading Standing Committee (PTSC). ESMA is therefore calling for expressions of interest from stakeholders to become a member of the CWG by 31 July 2017.

Back then, it was a thriving hub for textiles and other manufacturing industries. The City’s architecture bears witness to the rich civic investment that took place around this time, with the public and private sector often working in partnership. The decline of the UK textiles industry from the mid-20th century was mirrored in Bradford’s own fortunes.
