Wells Fargo And LPL Financial Charged For Submitting Deficient Trading Data To SEC - Wells Fargo’s Penalty Amount Reflects That It Self-Reported Its Misconduct

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced settled charges against Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC and LPL Financial LLC for failing to provide complete and accurate securities trading information, known as blue sheet data, to the SEC. Wells Fargo and LPL each agreed to pay a $900,000 civil penalty to resolve the SEC's charges.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a response to the letter received from a law firm on 18 June 2024, regarding the intention of Banque Fédérative du Crédit Mutuel (BFCM), based in France, to keep some legacy instruments in its balance sheet without any regulatory value.

Bank Of England, UK Financial Conduct Authority, UK Prudential Regulation Authority And UK Payment Systems Regulator Conduct 2024 Review Of Memorandum Of Understanding For Payment Systems In The UK

The Bank of England (Bank), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), and the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) (the Authorities) have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which sets out the high-level framework that we use to cooperate with one another in relation to payment systems in the UK. The Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 requires the Authorities to review the MoU annually.

SEC Charges Utility Company Entergy Corp. With Internal Accounting Controls Violations - Company Agrees To Pay $12 Million In Penalties And Adopted Independent Consultant’s Recommended Improvements

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Entergy Corporation, a Louisiana-based utility company, agreed to pay a $12 million civil penalty to settle charges that it failed to maintain internal accounting controls to ensure that its surplus materials and supplies were accurately recorded in its books and financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has imposed a €6 million fine on GESTERNOVA S.A. and a €1.5 million fine on AXPO IBERIA for manipulating the Spanish electricity market between 30 September and 30 December 2022.
