Nasdaq Receives First Approved Reporting Mechanism (ARM) License In Sweden

Today Nasdaq Broker Services announced it has become the first firm to receive an ARM licence from Finansinspektionen, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA). The license is a requirement in order to submit transaction reports as a third party provider under MiFID II. Nasdaq will start acting as an Approved Reporting Mechanism for its clients on January 3, 2018, when the new regulations come into effect.

FSB Statement On Identification Of Global Systemically Important Insurers

The Financial Stability Board (FSB), in consultation with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and national authorities, has decided not to publish a new list of global systemically important insurers (G-SIIs) for 2017.

Highlights
- Stock markets in Hong Kong and the Mainland generally rallied in October. Mainland A shares performed well, with CES A80 up 6.5 per cent from the previous month
- Mainland-based blue chips were chased. CES 120, which tracks cross-border large-cap stocks, jumped 5.8 per cent. CES 280, which represents smaller stocks, surged 2.1 per cent
- CES G10 fell 3.8 per cent as brokers became cautious in their outlook on Asian gaming stocks
- Ministry of Finance’s US dollar sovereign bonds sold in Hong Kong were 10 times oversubscribed, with yields rivalling those of AAA-rated sovereign bonds
- MSCI announced launch of “MSCI China A Inclusion Indexes” and said “MSCI China A Indexes” will be renamed “MSCI China A Onshore Indexes” next year
- ADV of A-share index futures traded in Singapore fell 7 per cent from the previous month

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “the Exchange) is launching a public education campaign today called “What’s Your Goal”, aimed at increasing the awareness and consideration of share investment. Bursa Malaysia will be collaborating with Participating Organisations (POs) to empower Malaysians to meet their financial aspirations and goals through share investment. The campaign will run for three months, from 21 November 2017 until February 2018.

CFTC’s Division Of Clearing And Risk Extends No-Action Relief For Shanghai Clearing House

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Clearing and Risk (DCR) today issued a no-action letter extending the relief provided to Shanghai Clearing House (SHCH) in CFTC Letter 16-56, which, as extended by CFTC Letter No. 17-26, expires November 30, 2017. The extension will last until the earlier of February 28, 2018 or the date on which the CFTC exempts SHCH from registration as a derivatives clearing organization (DCO).
