  • NYSE Member Firms Report Third-Quarter Results

    New York Stock Exchange member firms that conduct business with the public reported a third-quarter 2017 after-tax profit of approximately $3.5 billion and revenues of approximately $47 billion, compared with approximately $3.7 billion after-tax profit on revenues of about $43 billion in the third-quarter of 2016.

  • New York Stock Exchange Celebrates 94th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting On Nov. 30

    he 94th annual lighting of the NYSE Christmas Tree to celebrate the holiday season. Z-100 on-air personality DJ Nico will emcee this year’s tree lighting ceremony which will feature musical performances including the Rockettes, Chilina Kennedy and The Drifters of Broadway’s Beautiful and appearances by the Budweiser Clydesdale (NYSE: BUD), Miss America Cara Mund, Daymond John of ABC’s Shark Tank, Mr. Met, Macy’s Santa Claus (NYSE: M) and many more. The Closing Bell will be rung by performing artists and notable guests participating in the Tree Lighting ceremony. The NYSE Christmas Tree will be illuminated at 5:00 p.m.

  • US Federal Banking Agencies Finalize Extension Of Certain Capital Rule Transitions

    The federal banking agencies on Tuesday finalized a rule for certain banking organizations by extending the existing capital requirements for mortgage servicing assets and certain other items.  The rule is being finalized to prevent different rules from taking effect while the agencies consider a broader simplification of the capital rules.

  • FINRA Fines J.P. Morgan Securities, LLC $1.25 Million For Failing To Appropriately Fingerprint Or Screen Its Employees

    The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced it has fined J.P. Morgan Securities, LLC $1.25 million for failing to conduct timely or adequate background checks on approximately 8,600, or 95 percent, of its non-registered associated persons from January 2009 through May 2017. 

  • Russell/Nomura Total Market Index Adds 151 New Firms In Annual Reconstitution

    FTSE Russell and Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. today announced that 151 new stocks were added to the Russell/Nomura Total Market Index, which captures 98% of the float-adjusted market capitalization of the Japanese equity market, as part of the annual reconstitution process on 20 November 2017. The new membership list for the indexes was posted on the FTSE Russell website.

  • Port Moresby Stock Exchange (POMSoX) Launches New Nasdaq Trading System

    Nasdaq Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) and the Port Moresby Stock Exchange (POMSoX) have announced that POMSoX has gone live with the widely deployed Nasdaq Matching Engine that operates on the Nasdaq Financial Frameworkplatform. The launch of the new trading platform is a result of an upgrade from previous Nasdaq trading technology. The new trading engine will handle the trading of equities in the Papua New Guinea market. POMSoX has been a customer of Nasdaq since 1999. 

  • SEC: Long Island Town And Former Top Official Charged With Defrauding Municipal Investors

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Oyster Bay, New York, and its former top elected official with defrauding investors in the town’s municipal securities offerings by hiding the existence and potential financial impact of side deals with a businessman who owned and operated restaurants and concession stands at several town facilities.

  • The Amman Stock Exchange Has Issued The Second Brochure "Sustainability 2"

    The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) Mr.Nader Azar said that as the ASE joined the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (SSE) in 2016, which aims to increase awareness of sustainable development objectives related to environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance. And following the Issuance of the first brochure on sustainability this year, which included important information related the concept, history and benefits of sustainable development, the ASE has issued the second brochure on 'Sustainability', In order to increase the awareness of the listed companies and all other related parties of the importance of sustainability and the importance of preparing sustainability reports.
