Monetary Authority Of Singapore Imposes Penalties On Standard Chartered Bank And Standard Chartered Trust For AML/CFT Breaches

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced today that it has imposed penalties of S$5.2 million on Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore Branch (SCBS) and S$1.2 million on Standard Chartered Trust (Singapore) Limited (SCTS). The penalties were for breaches of MAS’ anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements. These breaches occurred when trust accounts of SCBS’ customers were transferred from Standard Chartered Trust (Guernsey) to SCTS from December 2015 to January 2016.

Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission’s Regulatory Action Halts ICO To Hong Kong Public

ICO issuer Black Cell Technology Limited (Black Cell) has halted its initial coin offering (ICO) to the Hong Kong public and agreed to unwind ICO transactions for Hong Kong investors by returning them the relevant tokens following regulatory action by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) over concerns that Black Cell had engaged in potential unauthorized promotional activities and unlicensed regulated activities.

Listing And Trading Of Al Rayan Qatar ETF On Qatar Stock Exchange

Qatar Stock Exchange announces that effective 21st March 2018, the Al Rayan Qatar ETF will be admitted to trading.
The Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) issued by Masraf Al Rayan tracks the QE Al Rayan Islamic Index (Price). The benchmark measures the price performance of Shari’a complaint stocks (as approved by Al Rayan’s Shari’a Supervisory Board) listed on Qatar Stock Exchange. -

Intercontinental Exchange Announces Open Interest Record In Sterling Futures

Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges and clearing houses and provider of data and listings services, today announced that the ICE Three Month Short Sterling Futures contract achieved two consecutive open interest records of 3,896,252 contracts on 16 March 2018 and 3,867,976 contracts on 15 March 2018. The previous open interest record was 3,801,867 contracts set in July 2007.

ASEAN Capital Market Regulators Welcome The Progress Of The ASEAN Green Bond Standards And Agree To Implement Professional Mobility Framework To Drive Regional Connectivity

The ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) welcomed the progress achieved by the ASEAN Green Bond Standards at its meeting today. Since its launch in November 2017, the ASEAN Green Bond Standards have gained encouraging traction and there have been three issuances from Malaysia and Singapore carrying the ASEAN Green Bond label. The first sovereign sukuk in ASEAN issued by Indonesia is aligned with the ASEAN Green Bond Standards.
