In response to today’s KPMG & REC UK Report on Jobs, which highlights a short supply of skills in risk and compliance positions, among other fields, Nick Bayley, Managing Director of Compliance and Regulatory Consulting at Duff & Phelps has issued the following comments.
“With the UK seemingly on a path to leaving the EU in just a few months, UK regulators are working frantically to address the regulatory gaps that could arise from a no-deal scenario. As the FCA takes on additional competencies for the UK financial sector that the EU institutions now handle, these additional policy and oversight responsibilities will inevitably increase the need for qualified individuals to fill the Brexit compliance gap."

HKEX: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

Exchange Participants are advised that with effect from 15 February 2019, 29 securities will be added to the list of Designated Securities for short selling while 47 existing Designated Securities will be removed from the list. The total number of Designated Securities for short selling will be 913. The securities to be added to and those to be removed from such list are shown in the Attachment for your information. The revised list of all Designated Securities is also available on the Exchange's website (http://www.hkex.com.hk).

HKEX Market Opens For The Year Of The Pig

This morning (8 February), HKEX held a market opening ceremony to welcome in trading for the Lunar New Year, with HKEX Chairman Laura M Cha and Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan striking the gong at the open, followed by a spectacular lion dance performance. The ceremony was hosted by our Chairman and HKEX Chief Executive Charles Li, with Securities and Futures Commission Chairman Tim Lui, HKEX directors and senior executives, as well as representatives of market participants in attendance.

Nasdaq Stockholm Orders Cyxone AB To Pay A Fine Corresponding To Two Annual Fees

The Disciplinary Committee of Nasdaq Stockholm has found that Cyxone AB (”Cyxone” or “the Company”) has breached the regulations of Nasdaq First North (“the Rulebook”) and has therefore ordered Cyxone to pay a fine of two annual fees, corresponding to an amount of SEK 200,000.
