US Federal Agencies Issue Final Rule To Exempt Residential Real Estate Transactions Of $400,000 Or Less From Appraisal Requirements

The Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency have adopted a final rule that increases the threshold for residential real estate transactions requiring an appraisal from $250,000 to $400,000.

GPW Group Implements Key Project To Develop Agricultural Exchange

- The GPW Group consortium has signed a memorandum of understanding with Elewarr to develop a system of warehouses authorised for the storage of grains traded on the Food Platform based on the grain silos owned by Elewarr and its subsidiaries
- Authorised warehouses guarantee and execute the clearing of transactions in commodities on the agricultural exchange
- The launch of the Food Platform is a key strategic project supporting the development of Poland’s agriculture
- The creation of an agricultural exchange, part of the government’s Strategy for Responsible Development, is a key initiative under #GPW2022

AB Max Sievert Acquires Nasdaq’s Stake In Scila AB

Swedish investment company AB Max Sievert has acquired a minority stake in Stockholm-based leading independent surveillance and risk technology provider Scila AB. The minority stake originated from the Nasdaq acquisition of Cinnober in early 2019. Cinnober had a minority shareholding in Scila for over 10 years before being acquired by Nasdaq.

ESMA Study Finds High Impact Of Costs On Performance, Especially For Active Equity Funds

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has carried out a study of the performance of active equity funds as compared to passive equity funds, ETFs and relevant benchmarks. The study, included in the latest Trends, Risks and Vulnerabilities (TRV) report finds that actively managed funds have in past years underperformed, in net terms, both passive equity funds and equity ETFs, as well as their own benchmarks, primarily due to the large impact of ongoing costs.

The World Federation of Exchanges ("WFE"), the global industry group for exchanges and CCPs, and the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (“SSE”) initiative have formalised their deepening partnership, with the two organisations agreeing to work together on building capacity and technical assistance to stakeholders, and on joint publications and research.
