The FSA published the monitoring report on financial institutions’ system integration and renewal. Based on the FSA’s monitoring of financial institutions pertaining to their system integration and renewal, wherein certain problematic practices by multiple financial institutions were ascertained as common pitfalls that any financial institution could be prone to mishandling, the monitoring report contains cases of problematic practices (classified by businesses types/lines, issues, causes, and countermeasures), as an informative reference to financial institutions in implementing large-scale and complex system integration and renewal.

Japan's Financial Services Agency: Publication Of Analysis Report On Financial Institutions’ Computer System Failures

The FSA published the analysis report on financial institutions’ computer system failures. Based on the FSA’s analysis of statutory computer system failure reports filed by financial institutions, wherein emerging risks pertaining to the accelerating digitalization were identified, the analysis report contains the analytical results (with respect to trends, events, causes, and countermeasures of computer system failures), as an informative reference to financial institutions in terms of their IT risk management.

Japan's Financial Services Agency: Financial Industry-Wide Cybersecurity Exercise (Delta Wall IV)

Ensuring cybersecurity across the financial sector has become a crucial issue for the stability of the overall financial system due to cyberattacks in the financial sector becoming increasingly sophisticated and complicated. In the run-up to the "Games of the XXXII Olympiad and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games," to prepare for the occurrence of a large-scale cyber incident, the FSA has conducted the fourth industry-wide cybersecurity exercise (“Delta Wall* IV”) over the period from October 3 to 11, 2019.
* Delta Wall means a key element in cybersecurity: the triad (Delta) of “self-help,” “mutual assistance,” and “public assistance.”
