  • Readout: US Secretary Of The Treasury Janet L. Yellen’s Meeting With Mexican Finance Secretary Arturo Herrera Gutiérrez

    Earlier today, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Mexican Finance Secretary Arturo Herrera Gutiérrez.  Secretary Yellen reviewed ongoing efforts in the United States and Mexico to respond effectively to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support a robust economic recovery.  She affirmed Treasury’s commitment to deepen cooperation with Mexico on preventing illicit finance, and looked forward to bilateral cooperation to address the root causes of migration from northern Central America. Secretary Yellen stressed the importance of support by the G-20, in which Mexico is a key participant, for a global minimum tax.  Finally, Secretary Yellen warmly congratulated Secretary Herrera on his nomination to be the next Governor of the Bank of Mexico, and looked forward to continued cooperation with him in that capacity.

    • No EUR/JPY, GBP/JPY, GBP/USD, USD/CAD 5-Minute contacts were listed for the 6:05pm ET expiration time on trade date June 14, 2021;

    • No GBP/JPY 5-Minute contacts were listed for the 6:05pm ET expiration time on trade date June 16, 2021.

  • SIFMA: Juneteenth Federal Holiday

    Juneteenth National Independence Day is now a federal holiday. As June 19, 2021 falls on a Saturday, Fedwire remains open - SIFMA therefore will not recommend a fixed income market close.
