The Private Banking Industry Group (PBIG) in Singapore announced today that, contrary to statements made in a 14 April 2023 article in The Financial Times, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has not issued any directive to banks – tacit or otherwise – to avoid discussing the origins of wealth inflows into Singapore.

Pursuant to the Trading Rules of China Financial Futures Exchange and relevant detailed implementation rules, the last trading day of a CSI 300 Index futures, SSE 50 Index futures, CSI 500 Index futures, CSI 300 Index options, CSI 1000 Index futures, CSI 1000 Index options, and SSE 50 Index options contract is the third Friday of the expiry month. Where the last trading day is a public holiday or trading of that contract is suspended on that day for extraordinary situations or other reasons, the last trading day shall be postponed to the following trading day. Accordingly, the last trading day of IF2304, IH2304, IC2304, IO2304(CSI 300 Index options contracts expiring in April 2023), IM2304,MO2304(CSI 1000 Index options contracts expiring in April 2023),and HO2304(SSE 50 Index options contracts expiring in April 2023) is April 21, 2023.

Recently, China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) officially completed the registration of 30-year China government bond (CGB) futures contracts (the “Contracts”) with the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). Today, CFFEX released the 30-year CGB futures contract specifications and relevant rules, and the Notice on the Listing and Trading of 30-Year China Government Bond Futures Contracts (the “Notice”). The first batch of three contracts will be listed for trading on April 21, 2023.

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announces its support for the public consultation issued today by the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) on proposed climate-related reporting requirements for listed companies in Hong Kong. The consultation is a major step towards aligning Hong Kong with the global baseline for climate-related reporting standards to be published by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

Japan Financial Services Agency hosted Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Virtual Assets Contact Group Meeting In Tokyo

The FATF’s Virtual Assets Contact Group (VACG) meeting and its private sector outreach were held in Tokyo on April 12th – 14th, hosted by the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA). Japan has chosen strengthening AML/CFT/CPF measures for virtual assets as one of the priorities of the Finance Track under its G7 Presidency this year. VACG leads the promotion of global implementation of FATF Standards on virtual assets, including engagements with the private sector.
Officials from 19 jurisdictions and international organizations, including JFSA’s expert serving as a Co-Chair of the VACG, attended the meeting. In addition, as for private sector outreach, approximately 80 private-sector participants (virtual assets service providers, blockchain analytics companies, industry bodies, financial institutions, etc.) from all over the world joined the discussion.
