FTSE International And Reuters Join Forces On Industry Classification

FTSE International and Reuters today announce plans to classify nearly 35,000 companies in the Reuters database of equities using the FTSE Global Classification System for the global equities markets. The service will be jointly produced and Reuters will disseminate the FTSE - Reuters Classification Service through its 3000 Xtra services worldwide.

Durum Wheat Futures Contract Amendments Approved

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGE) announced changes to the durum wheat futures contract, traded on the Exchange since February 1998. These changes were approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on February 28, 2000.

Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading Enjoys Another Month Of Strong Growth In Volume And Open Interest

Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading (SGX-DT) is pleased to announce figures showing robust growth in its total trading volume and open interest in the month of February 2000. A total of 4,350,812 contracts have been traded from January to February 2000, up 12.40% from the 3,870,825 contracts traded in the same period last year. Open interest has leaped 16.5% to 1,081,786 contracts at end February 2000, from 928,589 contracts at end February 1999.

Program Trading Averaged 19.8 Percent of NYSE Volume During Feb. 22-25

The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Feb. 22-25. The data indicated that during Feb. 22-25, program trading amounted to 19.8 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,063.4 million shares, or 211.0 million shares a day.

Parisbourse SBF SA Derivatives Trading Up 15% - Open Interest In Euro Notional Contracts Continues Steady Rise
