CME QBI to Be Transferred To GLOBEX®2 Electronic Trading System

The CME Quarterly Bankruptcy Index (QBI) contract will be transferred to the GLOBEX®2 electronic trading system from its open outcry pit within the next several weeks. A final launch date will be determined pending final regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Toronto Stock Exchange to become sole senior equities market in Canada

The Board of Governors of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) is pleased to announce that the TSE has reached agreement with the Montreal, Vancouver and Alberta exchanges to restructure the Canadian markets along lines of market specialisation to ensure a strong and robust exchange system which will benefit Canadian capital markets and all participants.

The OM Stockholm Exchange launches new share trading system, SAX2000

The first phase of LIFFE CONNECT™ is on schedule to go live on Monday, April 12, 1999. The first contracts to be launched will be the 5 and 10 year Gilts. LIFFE Members are due to commence dress rehearsals for the new market on March 23, 1999.

Korea Futures Exchange signs support contract with OM Technology

The Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) has signed a five-year support contract with OM Technology, covering the OM CLICK Exchange System and the OM SECUR Clearing System. The support deal's order value amounts to just below SEK 50 m.

IPE Sets Another New Daily Volume Record

Volume of daily trade on the IPE, the leading energy futures and options exchange outside the US once again surpassed previous records achieved only the day before. The record volume of 157,381 lots was achieved on March 11 and exceeds the previous record of 154,594 lots set on Wednesday March 10.
