    The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has set a fall launch for "E-mini" versions of two of its leading currency contracts, Euro FX futures and Japanese yen futures, marking the first time the successful "E-mini" design will be applied to non-equity products at the exchange.

    Hard red spring wheat futures posted record fiscal year trading volume Friday. The Minneapolis Grain Exchange fiscal year ends August 31. Total fiscal year volume through August 6, 1999 stood at 1,072,723 contracts, the equivalent of 5,363,615,000 bushels of wheat.

Pottruck is President, Co-Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Charles Schwab Corporation and will fill the remaining term of Jon S. Corzine. The NASD Board of Governors acted upon the recommendation of its nominating committee during its regularly scheduled meeting on July 29.

BSE index registered a fall of 0.7% on thin trading (volume down 41.5% compared to last week). Advance /decline ratio also deteriorated to 4:11.

    Barclays became the first ever listed company in Botswana to have a market value of over a billion Pula (approx. $215m) as its shares leaped from P5.40 to P6.40, a gain of 18.5% on the week. Consequently, the combined value of all domestic listed companies broke through the P4bn ($870m) barrier for the first time.
