Doug Atkin, Richard Kilsby, Benn Steil And John Woodman To Launch Consultancy

Four prominent names in the transatlantic securities business announced today that they are joining forces to create an international market consultancy operation. The four are Doug Atkin, formerly CEO of Instinet; Richard Kilsby, formerly CEO of UK-based Tradepoint (now virt-x); Benn Steil, Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations; and John Woodman, formerly COO of Knight Securities International. Atkin and Steil are based in New York, Kilsby and Woodman in London.
CBOE Expands Electronic Trading

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world's largest options exchange, today announced that it implemented new technology to further enhance its trading floor. The new system, called LOU, for Large Order Utility, allows for the instantaneous execution of large-sized orders that previously were not eligible for electronic execution. S&P Index Services To Open New Office In Hong Kong

Standard & Poor's will open an Index Services office in Hong Kong, complementing its existing financial information and credit rating operations in Hong Kong. Mr. David A. KCBT Wheat Options Set New Annual Trading Volume Record, Open Interest Record

Trading volume in Kansas City Board of Trade wheat options has set a new annual record, the sixth year in a row that this has occurred. At the conclusion of Wednesday's trade, year-to-date volume in KCBT wheat options totaled 245,029 contracts, surpassing the previous annual record of 243,311 contracts established in 2001. As of July 15 Borsa Italiana's offer to Monte Titoli shareholders for the acquisition of the entire capital had received acceptances representing 94% of Monte Titoli's capital. This is in addition to Borsa Italiana existing shareholding of 4,1%.
